Providing health care for long and happy lives

We offer comprehensive preventative and wellness care for dogs and cats of all ages. Our doctors will make specific recommendations based on your pet’s age and lifestyle. We treat your pets as individuals.

At these visits you can expect a nose-to-tail checkup at least once a year depending on your pet’s age. Our care includes a balanced approach to vaccinations, parasite prevention, spaying and neutering, behavioral management, weight management and screening for diseases at different life stages.

We prioritize not only your pet’s physical health,
but their mental health as well

At your first visit to our hospital we hope you will see our approach with your loved ones is different. From our specifies-specific entrances, separate lobby waiting areas, and dedicated exam rooms, to our low stress handling and FearFree trained staff. Our approach provides a calm and comforting atmosphere during each visit.

Dentistry

At SFAH we take your pet’s oral health seriously. We know that our pets can live longer and healthier lives when their teeth and gums are happy.

We take time to evaluate all of the structures in your pets mouth and if disease is found, we offer a range of options to address it. We evaluate your pet’s mouth for inflamed gums, periodontal pockets, enamel defects, tooth discolorations, fractures, bone and tooth root disease. We have the ability to perform routine comprehensive cleanings to more advanced oral procedures, should your pet need it. Because our pets often don’t tell us when their mouth hurts, we will use a combination of thorough oral exam techniques and digital dental radiography to provide a full assessment of oral health.

Our dental procedures are always performed under general anesthesia with a veterinarian and licensed veterinary technician along with our advanced monitoring equipment.

Wellness Diagnostics

We utilize local veterinary and numerous University labs to screen for common and uncommon diseases as part of our wellness and sick pet care. For urgent and emergency needs, we have a comprehensive in-house laboratory to deliver time-sensitive results

We offer a suite of other diagnostics including digital radiographs, ultrasound scans, ECG and blood pressure to screen for and diagnose many types of illnesses.

Surgery

We have the ability to perform a wide range of surgical procedures to help provide care for your pet. all in one place. During anesthesia, your pet will receive an intravenous catheter to receive medications and fluids and will always be monitored by a licensed veterinary technician along with our advanced monitoring equipment. We always provide comprehensive pain control for all procedures through the combination of local anesthetics, injectable medications, and oral medications.
